Strong College Students

Strong College Students is defined by its mission, vision, and values. Our mission is simple and derived from the pitfalls and problems in the moving industry.  Our goal is to simply change the experience and way the customer looks at moving.  Why can’t moving be an enjoyable, memorable, fun or pleasant experience?  Why must stereotypes and horror stories plague the industry?  We believe that can be changed and we worked to improve it each day we send our trucks and crews to a new customers home or business.  Our mission is to “Graduate our customers to an enjoyable, memorable, and fun moving experience.”  Our strong college student crews are energetic, polite, and friendly a refreshing twist from the “normal” mover.  They’re pursuing their education so they are up to speed on cultural and social issues of our current day and are eager to learn, express, or enhance their views and opinions.  We encourage the crews to engage in conversation with customer and their peers to try and reduce the stress of the move and speed the day along with good company and conversation.  Each crew is required to learn 3 facts from each customer and fill in the section on the invoice accordingly: 1. their Alma Mater 2. their profession or career 3. A unique cool or fun fact about the customer.  This enables us to build an extended report when management does a follow up call after the completion of the move while also allowing the student moving crew to engage themselves into conversation with the customer while executing their specific job role and task for that moving day.

Our vision focuses on our customer however our vision is derived around our student movers. “Empowering students with the opportunity to balance employment with the rigor of college life” was the original vision of Founder Scott Bedell.  This reason alone encouraged him to pursue this idea and allowed him the freedom to complete his degree without the hassles or traditional college employment.  It’s our goal to see each Strong College Student make it to graduation and it’s a special occasion for us when they do, each student who reaches college graduation as a current strong college student receives their first year of membership in the USF Alumni Association paid for by the company.

Our mission and vision are defined by our organizations values, these values help guide and assist management in executing the plan for the company’s future.  The company values are the characteristics we expect and require of each student we call a Strong College Student.  This title is earned and rewarded when a student shows their dedication to our values of Leadership Development, Community Service, Physical Fitness, and Education.  These ideals are empowered and driven from management throughout the rest of the organization.  We realize for our staff this time and period of employment is more than a job, it’s an opportunity to help motivated hardworking college students begin building the stepping stones to their futures and careers.  We express this with phrases and slogans such as “Let tomorrow leaders move your home of office today!”  These principles have defined our philosophy and inspired us to create a business model that assist in the development of our staff while providing a valuable, dependable, unique niche service to our customer.
